Classic
Aakash Plain Salted Chips contains only three ingredients potatoes, edible
vegetable oil iodized salt. Why mess with simplicity? The pureness of a whole
potato, thinly sliced, cooked to golden perfection, and seasoned with fresh
iodized salt delivers undeniable flavor and crunch. A potato is packed with potassium, which is crucial for keeping your
body's fluid balance in check to prevent high blood pressure and bloating, and
also to promote healthy nerve function. A portion of chips baked in an oven will give you about 33% of your daily
recommended intake.
“While
there tends to be a lot of fear around potato chips, really, they're just potatoes, oil and
seasoning,” says dietician and nutrition therapist Rachael Hartley. “There's
nothing inherently dangerous about potato chips, and certainly,
you could eat them every day if you'd like.”Now here is the problem. The laws state
in the USA that it does NOT have to list canola oil on the bottle list of
ingredients. What a stupid law that is? Use a product
that you think is HEALTHY, when in fact it may Not be as healthy as you think
it is. It depends on how much canola oil is added to determine if the product
is bad, fair or OK. Since I do not know which bottles of
olive oil have canola oil in it, I will not use any olive oil at all.The law
needs to be changed, not just to list canola oil on the bottle, but to state
exactly how much is added in oz. and percent.
